The Police Command in Lagos State says it has granted Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, administrative bail after recovering a stun gun from him.

The Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday in Lagos.

He stated that the item recovered was a prohibited anti-riot device.

“What was recovered from him the gun-like object seen in the viral video is not a lethal weapon or firearm, but a stun gun, which is a prohibited anti-riot equipment,” he said.

Hundeyin noted that Adefarasin, who voluntarily presented himself at the Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday morning, was questioned over a viral video in which he was seen brandishing a gun-like object at another road user.

“He was interrogated and he volunteered a cautionary statement to police investigators,” he said.

The spokesperson added that the pastor had been granted administrative bail while investigations into the incident continued.

It will be recalled that in the first week of June, a video clip surfaced online allegedly showing Adefarasin brandishing what appeared to be a handgun while stuck in traffic.

The viral footage prompted public speculation, with some social media users alleging that the pastor was displaying a firearm while being filmed by a TikToker known for showcasing luxury vehicles.

However, Adefarasin, in a message to his congregation shared on his social media platforms, denied the allegation.

The pastor clarified that the object in question was neither a firearm nor was it pointed at anyone.
