The National Examinations Council (NECO) has disowned a fake Facebook account created in the name of its Registrar and Chief Executive, Professor Dantani Wushishi, warning that it was set up to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by the Council’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr Azeez Sani.
Sani urged the public to disregard the fraudulent account and remain vigilant to avoid falling victim to online scams.
He added that security agencies had been notified and are taking appropriate steps to apprehend those behind the impersonation.
