YouTube has recognised four leading Nigerian female creators—Ruth Kadiri, Kiekie, Ify Mogekwu (of Ify’s Kitchen), and Korty in celebration of its 20th anniversary, acknowledging their contributions to storytelling, comedy, culinary content, and youth culture on the global platform.

The honourees were spotlighted for their creative excellence and impact, showcasing the diversity and influence of Nigerian content in the digital space.

Ruth Kadiri, a Nollywood actress and filmmaker, was lauded for her compelling narratives that reflect authentic Nigerian life. Her YouTube channel, RuthKadiri247, has garnered over 2.97 million subscribers and more than 466 million views, making it one of the most-watched platforms for Nollywood content online.

Kiekie, celebrated for her relatable humour and vibrant fashion sense, has carved a niche in comedy and lifestyle content. Her ability to connect with audiences through satire and style has earned her a loyal following and widespread acclaim.

Ify Mogekwu, the culinary creator behind Ify’s Kitchen, was recognised for redefining African cuisine. Her platform simplifies traditional recipes, offering practical cooking tutorials to a growing audience of over seven million followers across social media platforms.

Also honoured was Korty, a Gen Z storyteller and filmmaker known for her distinctive interview series featuring cultural icons such as Tems and Rema. Her channel, which explores themes of youth identity and ambition, has received recognition from the YouTube Black Voices Fund for its originality and cultural relevance.

The recognition is part of YouTube’s broader initiative to celebrate influential creators around the world who are shaping global conversations and empowering local voices.
