The Federal High Court is set to commence its 2025 annual vacation from 28 July to 16 September. Court sittings will resume on 17 September.
This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by the court’s Director of Information, Mrs Catherine Oby Christopher,
Mrs Christopher noted that, during the vacation period, only the core divisions of the court Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt will remain operational to handle cases of extreme urgency.

“Accordingly, members of the public seeking to litigate urgent matters may approach only the aforementioned courts closest to them,” she stated.
She also listed the judges assigned to sit during the vacation period as follows:

Abuja: Justice Emeka Nwite and Justice M. S. Liman

Lagos: Justice Deinde I. Dipeolu and Justice Musa Kakaki

Port Harcourt: Justice P. M. Ayua and Justice A. T. Mohammed
The Director further explained that the vacation is in accordance with the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4(d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019.
The statement concluded with the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, extending his best wishes to his fellow judges for a restful and pleasant vacation.
