The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has called on international investors to take advantage of Nigeria’s expanding business landscape to maximise returns on their investments.

Speaking at the International Financial Investment and Trade Conference in Tunisia, Emir Sanusi appealed to global investors and industry leaders to consider Nigeria as a prime destination for investment. The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria highlighted the country’s position as one of Africa’s fastest-growing economies, with a dynamic and competitive market open to capital investors.

He urged business leaders to explore opportunities in sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, ICT, innovation, and finance, describing them as areas with strong potential for investment growth.

Emir Sanusi also cited the global success story of Nigerian billionaire Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who built his business empire by leveraging Nigeria’s favourable business environment. He encouraged foreign investors to take similar advantage.

Kano’s Investment Potential

The royal father made a compelling case for investment in Kano State, citing its vast socio-economic and natural endowments. With a population of over 22 million, rich natural resources, and a strategic location, Kano is home to international markets that serve several countries in West and Central Africa.

He also noted that incentives offered by the Kano State Government significantly ease the process of doing business, making the state an attractive hub for trade, commerce, and industry.

A statement by the Galadiman Kano and Chief of Staff to Emir Sanusi, Munir Sanusi Bayero, noted that the conference was attended by several notable figures, including the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Suleiman, Ambassador Bolaji (representing the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs), and the Director-General of NEPZA.
