Rep. Yusuf Gagdi (APC–Plateau) has donated ₦80 million and 71 rams to his constituents in celebration of the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir festival.

The lawmaker, who represents Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, made the presentation on Thursday night in Dengi, Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Gagdi explained that the gesture was aimed at easing the burden of the less privileged during the festive season. He emphasised that the distribution of both cash and livestock would be carried out without regard to political or ethnic affiliations.

“Eid-el-Kabir is more than a celebration. It is a divine reminder that the truest form of sacrifice lies not in the slaughter of animals, but in the surrender of pride, selfishness, and personal comfort for the sake of others,” he said.

“It is about giving even when it is difficult, standing firm when others falter, and doing good regardless of recognition.”

He added that the donations would be shared among party structures, religious bodies, traditional institutions, youth and women’s groups, and community influencers  with particular attention to the most vulnerable.

Gagdi also urged residents of Plateau and Nigerians at large to use the festive season to pray for peace and unity across the country.
