The Nigeria Women’s Cricket team secured their first victory at the ongoing Kwibuka Women’s Tournament in Rwanda on Thursday, defeating their Tanzanian opponents by two wickets.
The Female Yellow Greens had previously suffered defeats against Zimbabwe and Brazil in their opening two matches.
The match, held at the Gahanga Cricket Oval, saw Tanzania win the toss and elect to bat first.

Nigeria restricted Tanzania to 82 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs.
In response, Nigeria reached 83 runs for the loss of eight wickets within their allotted 20 overs, winning the match by two wickets.
Nigeria will face the hosts, Rwanda, on Friday in the nine-nation tournament.
The annual Kwibuka Tournament is held in memory of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda.
