The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr Paul Enenche, has declined a ₦30 million donation from the Governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris, during a crusade held in the state capital.
The donation was announced by the state’s Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Zayyanu Umar, on behalf of the governor, during the Dunamis Healing and Deliverance Crusade hosted at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi.
Commissioner Umar had told the congregation:
“Our governor, His Excellency, Dr Nasir Idris, has graciously approved the donation of a sum of ₦30 million to this gathering… and will present that sum in cash.”
However, Pastor Enenche swiftly declined the donation, stating that the money should be directed towards charitable causes within the state.
“If there is anything like an orphanage or charity organisation, please apply this amount of money to it. No, it will not be received,” he said.

The cleric went further to explain that the church must remain distinct from government structures and should not be seen as benefiting from public funds.
“We believe that government money should be used for government projects, and church money should be used for church things, not mixed together.”
Pastor Enenche’s stance reflects his longstanding position on ethical leadership and financial accountability. He reiterated that the Church of Christ must rely on divine provision, not political patronage.
“The body of Christ should trust God for supernatural supplies,” he said.
Governor Idris was not present at the crusade, but his representatives later appreciated the pastor’s humility and integrity. The state government has yet to confirm how the funds will be repurposed, following the pastor’s suggestion.
