Cairo University Named Africa’s Best Medical School

Cairo University’s Faculty of Medicine has claimed top positions in a global ranking of universities, emerging as the leading institution in Egypt and across Africa in several medical fields.

According to the report, the faculty secured first place nationally and continentally in over ten disciplines, including pharmacology, public health, dermatology, gastroenterology, anaesthesiology, surgery, ophthalmology, and nuclear medicine.

Internationally, it ranked among the top 100 to 150 universities in a number of specialities, placing 78th in toxicology, 112th in urology, and 116th in plastic surgery.

Altogether, more than 20 disciplines at the faculty achieved top rankings in Egypt and consistently high standings across Africa.

The university credited this achievement to the dedication of its academic staff and the institution’s strong focus on scientific research.

Cairo University’s Faculty of Medicine, the oldest medical school in the Middle East, is widely recognised as one of the region’s most prestigious academic institutions.
