The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) has officially opened the entry submission portal for its 2025 edition, inviting artistes and music professionals from across the continent and the diaspora to participate in Africa’s biggest celebration of music and culture. Submissions began on May 27, 2025, and will close on August 8, 2025.
Organised in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC), this year’s awards carry the theme “Unstoppable Africa,” aimed at showcasing the resilience, creativity, and global influence of African music and its practitioners.
AFRIMA 2025 is open to artistes, producers, songwriters, DJs, video directors, choreographers, dancers, and music journalists who are of African origin, whether living on the continent or abroad. All entries must be submitted digitally through the official AFRIMA Call for Entry form at afrima.org, as email submissions will not be considered.
Entry Timeline and Award Process
Following the submission deadline, the adjudication process will take place from August 12 to 19, 2025, during which a jury of industry experts will assess the entries. The nominee list is scheduled to be unveiled on August 27, after which public voting will open from September 5 to November 28.
Lagos Announced as Host City
The city of Lagos, Nigeria, has secured the hosting rights for AFRIMA 2025. The Awards Week will hold from November 25 to 30, culminating in the highly anticipated main awards ceremony on the final day. Lagos, known for its rich cultural landscape and vibrant entertainment scene, previously hosted successful editions of AFRIMA and remains a significant hub for African music.
