Adamawa Prepares For Presidential Visit, Projects Inauguration

The Adamawa State Government has finalised arrangements to receive President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a one-day official visit on Monday, according to Mr James Iliya, Commissioner for Information and Strategy.

Speaking on Sunday in Yola, the commissioner described the visit as “a clear validation of the developmental strides recorded under the administration of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.”

He said the President’s visit would also mark the inauguration of several key infrastructural projects executed by the Fintiri-led administration.

“The visit reflects national recognition of the state government’s commitment to improving the living standards of our citizens through strategic investments across critical sectors,” Iliya stated.

Some of the projects scheduled for inauguration include the newly constructed underpass at the former Bekaji Roundabout, the expanded Bank Road in Yola, and a model school in Yola North Local Government Area, one of 21 model schools built across the state.

“The President is also expected to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for a new NYSC permanent orientation camp in Malkohi, commission the ultra-modern High Court Complex, unveil the automated gate at Government House, and inaugurate the newly constructed Governor’s Office complex,” the commissioner added.

He noted that the projects span vital sectors such as education, infrastructure, justice administration, governance, security, healthcare, and human capital development.

Iliya called on residents to remain law-abiding and peaceful during the President’s visit, urging citizens of all political affiliations to turn out in large numbers to welcome Tinubu and demonstrate Adamawa’s unity and hospitality.

In a related statement, the Adamawa Police Command confirmed it had deployed manpower and operational assets across the state ahead of the visit, following a strategic meeting with security commanders.

The Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, directed the deployment of units including the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, Surveillance Squad, and Crowd/Traffic Control Unit.

“These teams will also carry out covert surveillance operations to ensure the safety and security of the President and all residents during the visit,” the statement added.
