Four people, including three children, were killed in an overnight Russian drone attack on Ukraine’s Kyiv region, regional authorities said on Sunday.
Drone strikes continued across Kyiv and surrounding areas throughout the day, with authorities reporting casualties and damage at several locations.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said one person was injured in the attacks, while fragments from intercepted drones fell in different parts of the capital.
In the Kyiv region, a mother and her two three-year-old children died when a Russian drone struck their home, according to the emergency service.
Regional Governor Tymur Tkachenko said a girl later died in hospital following a separate drone strike in another district.
He said the region had come under more than a day of attacks across several areas, with the southwestern Fastiv district suffering the heaviest damage.

More than 24 sites were affected in the district, including residential buildings, industrial and utility facilities, an agricultural enterprise and vehicles, Tkachenko said.
Elsewhere, Russian forces struck an area near an apartment building in the northern city of Sumy, killing one person and injuring another, according to local authorities.
Sumy, which lies close to the Russian border, has been frequently targeted during the war. Moscow has said it wants to establish a buffer zone in the area.
Russia did not comment on the reported attacks.
Russian forces have intensified drone attacks on Kyiv and the surrounding region in recent weeks.
In Kramatorsk, local officials reported that one person was killed during one of several shelling incidents. The city, in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, is among areas repeatedly targeted by Russian forces.
Meanwhile, Moldova’s Foreign Ministry condemned what it described as an overnight drone incursion north of the capital, Chisinau.
Moldova’s pro-Western government has repeatedly criticised Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and reported several incidents involving drones it identified as Russian entering Moldovan airspace.
