Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard, as uncertainty continues to surround the future of Ghana international Thomas Partey.
According to sources, the Gunners are considering a deal worth an initial £10 million, with an additional £5 million in performance-related add-ons for the 31-year-old Danish international.
Norgaard, who has not previously been a long-term target for Arsenal, has now emerged on their radar as the club looks to bring in experienced midfield reinforcements. This follows Partey’s failure so far to agree a contract extension, with his current deal set to expire next week. Should talks remain unresolved, Partey is expected to depart the Emirates.
Under contract with Brentford until 2027, Norgaard joined the club in 2019 and has played a pivotal role under manager Thomas Frank who has recently taken charge at Tottenham Hotspur.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are poised to finalise the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga by triggering his £5 million release clause. The club are also close to completing a £51 million deal for Real Sociedad midfielder Martín Zubimendi.

What would Norgaard bring to Arsenal?
According to Matthew Hobbs of BBC Sport, Norgaard has just completed his sixth consecutive season with Brentford, having featured in all four of their Premier League campaigns.
Since making his top-flight debut in 2021, the midfielder leads the Premier League in interceptions (201), ranks second in ball recoveries (844), and is third in tackles won (189) demonstrating his defensive consistency and intelligence.
Though not widely recognised for his goal-scoring ability, Norgaard enjoyed his most prolific season yet in 2024–25, netting six goals across all competitions—his highest tally in a 14-year professional career.
