A landslide at a construction site in southwestern China’s Guangxi region has killed at least one person and left four others trapped, local authorities said on Monday.
The incident occurred shortly before noon at a construction site in Nandan County, according to a statement from the local government.
Rescue teams were deployed to the site to search for the trapped workers and assess the situation.
The landslide comes amid heightened concerns over natural disasters in several parts of China following heavy rainfall and a series of floods and landslides this summer.
