The Honourable Minister of State for Youth Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande, has officially opened the Youth Internet Governance Forum (YIGF), where he highlighted the transformative power of the internet and digital technologies in empowering young people and shaping the future of the digital landscape.
In his address, he encouraged youth to use digital platforms responsibly and productively to make meaningful contributions to society.

Distinguished attendees included Senator Afolabi Salisu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity; Hon. Adedeji Stanley Olajide, Chairman of the House Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity; and a representative of the Director-General of NITDA, Mr Kashifu Inuwa, represented by Dr Dimie Wariowei, Director of Corporate Planning and Strategy. Also in attendance were officials from ECOWAS, youth delegates, and representatives of various government bodies, reflecting the forum’s regional importance and spirit of collaboration.

The West Africa Youth Internet Governance Forum (WAYIGF) forms part of the broader West African Internet Governance Forum (WAIGF).
