Nigeria’s Flamingos defeated Burkina Faso 2-0 on Monday to maintain their perfect record at the ongoing 2026 WAFU U-17 Women’s Tournament in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.
The Flamingos dominated possession in a closely contested first half but were unable to break through Burkina Faso’s resolute defence.
Nigeria returned after the break with greater attacking intensity and continued to press for the opening goal.
Their persistence paid off in the 82nd minute when Mary Dunstan produced a fine finish to put Nigeria ahead.
The goal boosted the Flamingos’ confidence as they increased the pressure in search of a second.

Oluwakemi Adegbuyi sealed the victory in stoppage time after dribbling past the Burkina Faso goalkeeper before calmly finding the net.
The result gives Nigeria three wins from three matches, maintaining their perfect start to the tournament.
The Flamingos will now seek to sustain their momentum as they continue their campaign for the WAFU U-17 Women’s title.
