Tinubu Commiserates With El-Rufai Over Late Mother’s Demise

Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Daniel Bwala, has confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and U.S. President Donald Trump will meet in the coming days to discuss and reconcile differing views on claims that terrorist attacks in Nigeria are targeted exclusively at Christians.

Bwala, who serves as Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, disclosed this in a post on his official X handle, @BwalaDaniel, on Sunday. He noted that both leaders share a firm commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms.

He emphasised that issues of terrorism in Nigeria affect citizens of all faiths and none, describing the matter as one that requires mutual understanding and cooperation between both countries.

“Both President @officialABAT and President @realDonaldTrump have shared interest in the fight against insurgency and all forms of terrorism against humanity,” Bwala wrote.

According to him, Trump had previously supported Nigeria by approving the sale of arms for counter-insurgency operations, while President Tinubu has “adequately utilised” those resources, yielding “massive results” in the fight against terrorism.

Bwala added that any differences in perception regarding whether terrorist attacks in Nigeria are faith-based would be addressed and resolved when the two leaders meet “either in State House or White House.”
