President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Lagos State ahead of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
He touched down at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, 27 May, and was received by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Dr Femi Hamzat, members of the Lagos State Executive Council, and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
According to a statement by Presidential Spokesperson Mr Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu, who chairs ECOWAS, will attend the anniversary events scheduled to take place at Eko Hotels and Suites. He is also expected to speak on the milestones achieved by the regional bloc.
Part of the programme includes a symbolic reenactment of the 1975 ECOWAS declaration at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island.

While in Lagos, the President will, on Saturday, 31 May, inaugurate several infrastructure projects executed by the Sanwo-Olu administration. These include Section I of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Lekki Deep Sea Port Tax Credit Concrete Road, and the flag-off of Section II of the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway and the 7th Axial Road.
President Tinubu will also virtually commission the Kano-Kanwar-Danja-Hadejiya Section II Road, the Yakasai-Zalli Road, and flag off the Kano Northern By-pass, the Zaria-Hunkuyi-Dabai Section I, Dabai-Kafur-Malumfashi Road, and the Malumfashi-Dayi-Yashe-Gidan Mutum Daya Section III.
The President will observe the Eid-el-Kabir prayers at the State House Mosque, Dodan Barracks, before returning to Abuja.
