Super League: Flamingo FC Edge Jordan FA 2–1

In a thrilling finale to the Afriskaut Elite Super League 2025, Flamingo FC mounted a dramatic comeback to defeat Jordan FA 2-1 on Sunday at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja, Kogi State.

The result had a ripple effect on the final standings, as Reigners FC who had edged FC Bako 1-0 the previous day emerged champions with 22 points. Jordan FA, despite the loss, secured second place with 20 points, while Flamingo FC finished third on 17 points.

Jordan FA showcased impressive skill and commendable sportsmanship throughout the competition, with notable victories including a 2-1 win over FC Bako, a 4-2 triumph over FA Bako, and a commanding 7-1 rout of Royal Base FC.

Sponsored by Afriskaut in partnership with the Ozi-Bako Foundation, the tournament featured six teams and aimed to promote grassroots football by offering young talents the opportunity to be scouted and supported by clubs and academies. The league kicked off on June 13 and concluded on July 20.

Jordan FA’s founder and CEO, Jordan Haziel, expressed appreciation to the Afriskaut/Ozi-Bako partnership for creating a platform to showcase the academy’s potential and expand its visibility.

“We are grateful to BAKO and all our partners for this opportunity to introduce our Academy to a wider audience. This will attract more young talents and reinforce our mission to nurture future stars,” Haziel said.

He emphasized the importance of continued sponsorship and strategic partnerships to sustain the Academy’s growth and further develop local football talent.

“With the right support, Jordan FA is determined to produce players who can compete at the highest levels both locally and internationally.”

Looking ahead, Haziel expressed optimism despite the loss in the final match.

“We’ll take this as a learning experience. Our team will review the tournament, identify areas for improvement, and work even harder to return stronger next season,” he added. “Our Academy remains committed to offering young players the opportunity to grow, learn, and fulfill their potential in football.”
