The organisers of the 2025 National Summit of the Nigeria Olympian Association (NOA) have announced that sports development will be the central focus of this year’s summit.
In a statement issued on Monday, NOA President, Olumide Oyedeji, confirmed that prominent figures from the sporting community are expected to attend the event.
“The 2025 NOA Summit is scheduled to take place from 22 to 24 July at Zeus Paradise Hotel, Mabushi, Abuja,” he stated.
According to Oyedeji, the three-day gathering will serve as a strategic platform for Olympians to deliberate on the future of sports development in Nigeria.
“This summit will foster collaboration, the exchange of experiences, and the formulation of solutions to challenges facing Nigerian athletes,” he noted.

Oyedeji, a former international basketball player, also revealed that a congress would be held as part of the summit proceedings.
“In line with our constitution, the congress will see the adoption of key operational resolutions,” he explained.
He added that the summit would conclude on 24 July with a Dinner and Awards Night, themed ‘The Labours of Our Heroes Past’.
“The occasion will celebrate Olympians and their families, highlight their achievements, and address issues relating to athlete welfare and recognition,” he said.
He further mentioned that sports administrators who uphold Olympic values and contribute to youth development would also be recognised.
“Previous honourees include Sunday Dare, Abu Gumel, and Philip Shaibu,” Oyedeji recalled.
He concluded by noting that the association would also visit selected orphanages in Abuja as part of its commitment to community support and social responsibility.
