SDP Faction Condemns Anti-Tinubu Coalition

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has expressed strong confidence in its ability to take over power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and other opposition parties in the 2027 general election.

Speaking at the SDP North-Central Zonal Caucus meeting held in Nasarawa State, the party’s National Vice Chairman for the North Central, Abubakar Dogara, said the party was experiencing significant growth and acceptance across the country.

We are making preparations to take over the leadership of the country come 2027, by the grace of God,” Dogara declared. SDP is now the bride of the nation. Everyone is coming to the party, and I believe even the media will soon join.”

He revealed that the party was expanding its presence at all levels, ward, local government, state, and national, and that demand for membership cards was rising rapidly. Dogara emphasised that the party had resolved to protect its structures and uphold its values rather than surrender them to opportunistic interests.

Calling on Nigerians to support the SDP, Dogara described the party as the “true alternative” for the country. He urged citizens to familiarise themselves with the party’s constitution and support its leadership in line with democratic principles.

The current government has failed to uphold the constitutional provision that prioritises the welfare and security of the people,” he said. We in the SDP are committed to respecting and implementing our party’s constitution at every level.”

Also speaking, the Benue State Chairman of the SDP, Idoko Itodo, expressed optimism that the party would make a strong showing in 2027, particularly in Benue State.

SDP has a 100% chance in Benue. We have governed the state before, and in previous elections, we have shown strength with credible candidates. Come 2027, we’re coming with full force to take over the state, the senatorial seats, the House of Representatives, and the State Assembly,” Itodo said.

The meeting also saw party stakeholders appreciate the contributions of notable figures such as Jonathan Gaza, Prince Adewale Adebayo, and Femi Olaniyi Ferrari for their unwavering support of the SDP in the North Central region.

As momentum builds, the SDP says it remains focused on presenting itself as a credible alternative capable of transforming Nigeria’s political and socio-economic landscape.
