Nigeria is participating in the Third Edition of the Saudi International Handicrafts Week (Banan) in Riyadh, an event hosted by the Heritage Commission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The global cultural showcase underscores the strengthening partnership between both nations and reaffirms Nigeria’s commitment to promoting and preserving its cultural heritage.
Representing the country at the prestigious 14-day event are three distinguished Nigerian artisans: Idowu Ohiole of Ohiole Lagos, Fatima Hassan of Arantiwa Clothing, and Lilian Oche of Lochness by Oja. Also in attendance is Loom Africa, an indigenous brand known for championing Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.
The artisans are exhibiting a range of hand-crafted works that highlight Nigeria’s creativity, cultural identity, and excellence in craftsmanship. Their participation at Banan is fostering cultural exchange, broadening international market access for Nigerian handmade products, and deepening cultural ties between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
According to the Ministry, Nigeria’s ongoing engagement at the event reflects its commitment to strengthening partnerships with private-sector stakeholders across nations, advancing cultural diplomacy, and positioning the country as a rising global cultural force.
