Russian Airstrikes Injure Dozens in Eastern Ukraine

Russian bomb attacks injured at least 29 people and caused extensive damage to residential buildings in eastern Ukraine on Thursday, according to regional officials.

In the south-eastern city of Zaporizhzhia, five guided bombs struck residential areas and a medical facility, injuring 15 people, regional governor Ivan Fedorov said.

Fedorov shared photographs on Telegram showing heavily damaged apartment buildings with shattered windows and structural destruction.

Zaporizhzhia has faced intensified Russian attacks in recent months. The region is one of four Ukrainian territories that Russia claimed to annex in 2022, although Ukrainian forces continue to control significant parts of the area.
