Police Nab Suspected Kidnapper, Cattle Rustler at Lafia Market

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested a suspected kidnapper and cattle rustler, Abashe Gizo, at the busy Shinge Market in Lafia.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police Rahman Nansel, the arrest followed credible intelligence. He disclosed that Gizo had been on the Command’s wanted list for his alleged involvement in a series of criminal offences.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed and subsequently led officers to his hideout in Ruwan Baka village, Doma Local Government Area, where an AK-49 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered.

In a related incident, the police also arrested one Fatima Salisu for allegedly attempting to transport a quantity of ammunition from Doma to Katsina State.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Mohammed, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of all residents. He called on the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities.
