At least nine children and one woman were killed in an attack by Pakistani forces on a home in Afghanistan’s Khost province, the Afghan Taliban said on Tuesday.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the deadly strike is part of a wider escalation, noting that Pakistan also carried out raids in Kunar and Paktika provinces, injuring four civilians.
The incidents have further heightened cross-border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, with the Taliban condemning the strikes as a violation of Afghan sovereignty.
The Taliban did not immediately provide evidence of the attacks, and Pakistani authorities had not commented at the time of reporting.
The reported civilian deaths raise serious concerns over the safety of non-combatants amid growing regional hostilities.
