A coalition of Nigerian technology and creative hubs has launched a joint initiative aimed at nurturing talent and creating employment opportunities for the country’s growing youth population.
The alliance, known as MSwitch Group, was formally inaugurated on Tuesday in Abuja.
Mr Kadir Salami, Chairman of the group, said the initiative was born out of the need to harness the vast potential within Nigeria’s creative and technology sectors.
Salami noted that the coalition aims to equip young Nigerians with essential tools, skills, and a conducive environment to enable them to thrive and contribute meaningfully to national economic growth.
The group comprises several entities, including MSwitch Media, Techspecialist, Tiidelab, and MSwitch Creative Hub.
According to Salami, the alliance is committed to helping emerging talents and businesses improve their visibility and communicate their stories effectively through strategic media engagement, storytelling, and content development.

He added that the group will address ongoing challenges in the sector, including limited exposure, poor access to IT support services, and the lack of expert guidance for creatives and start-ups.
“MSwitch Group is a multidisciplinary platform created to build safe spaces, drive innovation, and deliver sustainable impact across Africa’s digital and creative industries,” he said.
“As tech and creative hubs, we are creating a unified ecosystem to support Nigeria’s creative and technology sectors, bridging the gap between inspiration and execution.”
To achieve its objectives, the group has established a governing board made up of professionals with expertise in media, technology, and entrepreneurship. Salami explained that the board will provide strategic leadership to ensure the group remains aligned with the evolving demands of Africa’s digital and creative economy.
He emphasised the importance of giving young Nigerians access to meaningful opportunities, noting that although the country is rich in talent, lack of access remains a major hurdle.
“MSwitch Group is dedicated to nurturing creative ideas and talent by equipping young people with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed,” Salami added.
