Nigerian Government Introduces Free Education for Technical College Students

The Nigerian Government has announced that students in both Federal and State technical colleges will now benefit from free education.

The comprehensive package includes free tuition, accommodation, and meals, as well as a monthly stipend of ₦22,500 for each student.

Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, made the announcement during the launch of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) initiative in Abuja on Friday.

The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) initiative is a flagship program of the Federal Ministry of Education designed to equip young Nigerians with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

Dr Alausa explained that the initiative is intended to attract more young people to TVET by offering incentives that will enable them to acquire practical, industry-relevant skills and become productive members of society.
