The African Democratic Party (ADP) in Nasarawa State has commenced preparations for the 2027 general elections, outlining a campaign focused on inclusivity, security, economic recovery and sustainable empowerment.
The party disclosed this during an in-house clearance and affirmation exercise held in Lafia, the state capital, which was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies.
Speaking after the exercise, the party’s governorship candidate, Dr Chris Mamman, highlighted the state’s economic potential and human resources, saying these could be harnessed through innovative, creative and globally oriented leadership.

Mamman attributed the party’s growing support across the state to its commitment to internal democracy and a people-driven agenda. He urged members to remain united and promote clean, issue-based campaigns ahead of the election.
He also formally presented Alhaji Aliyu Usman Gurku as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.
The exercise also confirmed the party’s candidates for the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.
Mamman urged supporters to begin consultations and sensitisation campaigns within their neighbourhoods and communities to expand the party’s reach across the state.
