A youth group under the banner of the Nasarawa Patriotic Youth Alliance (NAPYA) has called on the Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Mr Silas Agara, to contest the 2027 governorship election in Nasarawa State.

The appeal was made on Monday in Doma Local Government Area by Mr Jude Osewu, NAPYA Coordinator for the Nasarawa Southern Senatorial Zone.

Osewu stated that Agara, a former deputy governor of the state, has consistently displayed outstanding leadership qualities in every public role he has held since 2003.

He said Agara’s track record marked by visionary leadership, impressive credentials, and an unwavering commitment to the development of Nasarawa State—makes him the ideal candidate to lead the state.

“As a visionary leader, he has continuously shown remarkable competence in governance, leadership, and community service, inspiring individuals and communities alike,” he said.

Osewu noted that Agara’s tenure as deputy governor and his current role as NDE boss reflect his capacity to bring about transformative change.

“His relentless efforts to empower young people, promote economic growth, and support educational advancement have earned him widespread admiration and respect,” he added.

He further described Agara as a role model for youths, having spearheaded initiatives that placed many young people in leadership roles, provided economic empowerment, and enhanced access to higher education.

“In light of his sterling achievements and qualifications, we urge him to enter the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship race as the most competent and capable leader the state is yearning for,” Osewu said.

The NAPYA Southern Zone meeting, held in Doma, brought together coordinators from various LGAs including Jude Osewu (Doma), Mujahid Isma’il (Obi), Agyetegba Abubakar (Keana), and Nata’ala Muhammad (Awe).
