The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has officially taken over the management of the upgraded Masha’er tent facilities from the service provider, Mashariq Al-Dhabiyya.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday in Makkah by NAHCON’s Public Affairs Officer, Malam Muhammad Musa.

According to Musa, the commission assumed control of the facilities in collaboration with state Muslim pilgrims’ welfare boards, agencies, and commissions. He described the development as a significant step aimed at improving the comfort and overall experience of Nigerian pilgrims during Hajj.

He added that the handover, which was received with mutual satisfaction, heralds a new era of standardised, high-quality service delivery for Nigerian pilgrims.

“Among the key upgrades are the installation of modern cooling systems and the addition of large shading umbrellas above the traditional tents,” Musa noted.

He further revealed that, for the first time, seven extra tents have been set aside as backups to accommodate any unforeseen circumstances during the pilgrimage.

“This proactive measure is unprecedented and underscores a strong commitment to providing a seamless Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims,” he said.

Describing the agreement as mutually beneficial, Musa stated that it is expected to deliver a more comfortable and unique experience during the 2025 Hajj operations.

Also in attendance was the Saudi Liaison Officer, Ustaz Abubakar Lamin, who expressed his delight at the upgraded facilities in preparation for the 2025 Hajj season.

The handover ceremony was well attended by committee heads, their secretaries, and the ICT team, all of whom commended the development.

The event marked a significant milestone in NAHCON’s ongoing efforts to enhance the Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims.
