The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has commended the upgraded facilities provided for pilgrims at Mina and Arafat, saying they form part of a deliberate effort to improve the standard of this year’s Hajj operations.

Mina and Arafat, two sacred sites in Makkah, represent the spiritual peak of the Hajj pilgrimage, where millions of Muslims from around the world gather for five to six days to observe key Islamic rites.

Alhaji Alidu Shutti, NAHCON’s Deputy Coordinator at the Makkah Office, made the remarks on Tuesday during an inspection visit to the sites.

Shutti expressed satisfaction with the improvements observed, stating that the inspection was aimed at confirming adequate preparations for Nigerian pilgrims during their stay at the holy sites.

He praised the service providers for the upgrades, adding that the quality of work executed reflects the commission’s confidence in their competence.

“What we have witnessed today is a marked improvement on previous years. We are grateful to Almighty Allah that our pilgrims will benefit from enhanced facilities at Mina and Arafat to perform their Hajj rites in comfort,” Shutti said.

“We are particularly impressed by the quality of bedding arrangements and the improved cooling systems in the tents,” he added.

Also speaking, the NAHCON Saudi Liaison Officer, Ustaz Abubakar Lamin, acknowledged the significant progress made in service delivery.

Lamin affirmed that the commission would continue regular inspections to ensure a successful and seamless Hajj operation.
