34,000 Nigerian Pilgrims Arrive in Makkah for 2025 Hajj

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced that 34,647 Nigerian pilgrims have so far arrived in Makkah from Madinah to perform the 2025 Hajj rites.

This was disclosed by Alhaji Alidu Shutti, Deputy Coordinator of the NAHCON Office in Makkah and Director of Inspectorate and Compliance, during a press briefing in Makkah on Monday.

Shutti stated that the commission is fully prepared to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj experience for all pilgrims.

“As of Sunday, we had received 34,647 pilgrims. Even now, additional pilgrims are being settled into their accommodation in Makkah. We are on track and fully committed to assisting the guests of Allah for a rewarding and accepted Hajj,” he said.

He noted that NAHCON has been engaging in a series of coordination meetings with service providers and officials of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj, including those at the level of Deputy Minister.

“These meetings are aimed at reviewing our operations, assessing progress, and fine-tuning arrangements to ensure everything is in order for the success of the Hajj exercise,” Shutti explained.

He commended the Saudi authorities for their consular support, particularly the Nigerian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate-General in Jeddah, describing their assistance as invaluable.

Shutti also praised the dedication and teamwork of NAHCON staff in providing effective and efficient services to pilgrims.

“Our task is to ensure that pilgrims receive value for the money they have paid, with all services rendered as stipulated in agreements with service providers. We have monitoring teams from Inspectorate and Compliance, as well as from Monitoring and Evaluation units, to oversee service delivery,” he said.

According to him, this oversight ensures that pilgrims receive nothing short of the highest standard of care during the sacred rites.
