Kano Pilgrims Board Sets Oct. 8 Deadline for 2026 Hajj Deposit

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed Oct. 8 as the deadline for the remittance of 50 per cent of the state’s Hajj seat allocation for the 2026 pilgrimage.

The directive followed a circular from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), which announced ₦8.2 million as the final fare for the 2026 Hajj.

Announcing the development, the Director-General of the board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u, said in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, that Kano State had been allocated 5,684 seats for the exercise.

“Intending pilgrims are urged to process their Hajj drafts without delay to ensure the state retains its full allocation,” Rabi’u said.

He also emphasised that Dec. 31 remains the deadline for full payment of the Hajj fare.

Earlier, the Chairman of the board, Alhaji Yusuf Lawan, prayed for divine support to enable the state to meet the target.

“We appeal to stakeholders to redouble their efforts toward meeting the directive,” Lawan added.
