The management of Dangote Petroleum Refinery has expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his timely intervention in curbing what it described as “the disruptive actions of PENGASSAN” against the company.
In a statement issued over the weekend, the refinery commended the President’s leadership and the coordinated efforts of key government officials, which restored stability to the energy sector during a critical period.
“Dangote Refinery is grateful to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, HE Bola Tinubu, GCFR, for his intervention, through his Ministers and senior officials, which resulted in the abatement of the disruptive actions of PENGASSAN against the Refinery,” the statement read.
The company acknowledged the tireless efforts of Nigeria’s security chiefs, led by National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; Director-General of the Department of State Services, Mr. Adeola Toyin Ajayi; and Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Mr. Mohammed Mohammed, in defusing the crisis.
Also praised were the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Mohammed Dingyadi; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu; and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, for their “patriotic and determined efforts into the wee hours of several nights to avert the declared disruption of Nigeria’s energy sector by anarchists and agents of darkness.”

Dangote Refinery extended heartfelt appreciation to Nigerians for their support, saying, “To Nigerians of all walks of life, we owe you more than a debt of gratitude. Your support for our righteous cause was both humbling and overwhelming. You gave us hope and reinforced our belief in the Nigerian nation and people as the backbone of our enterprise.”
The company also lauded its workforce for their loyalty during the industrial tension, highlighting that operations were not disrupted “even for a second.”
Reaffirming its role as a leading employer, Dangote Refinery underscored its adherence to international labour standards, competitive compensation, and commitment to employee welfare and national economic development.
The refinery additionally praised the judiciary for upholding the rule of law, calling the courts “the bastion of hope” against “intimidation from sabotaging oligarchs.”
The statement concluded by reiterating the company’s dedication to national service and uninterrupted production. “Our commitment to the Nigerian nation and our pact with its people remain undiluted, undiminished, and unalterable notwithstanding distractions from detractors and saboteurs,” the company affirmed.
