Aliyu Audu has formally resigned from his role as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs.
In a letter dated 8 June 2025, addressed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu via the Chief of Staff, Audu stated that his resignation takes immediate effect.
He expressed deep appreciation to the President for the opportunity to serve in the administration, describing it as both an honour and a privilege.
“I remain profoundly grateful to you, Mr President, for the opportunity to serve my fatherland under your visionary leadership,” Audu wrote. “It has been an honour to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration.”

He also acknowledged the support of Ajuri Ngelale, the former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, who nominated him for the role. Audu was nominated on 26 August 2023, with the appointment formally approved by President Tinubu on 9 October 2023.
Although no reason was given for his resignation, Audu assured the President of his continued prayers for the administration’s success and the nation’s progress.
