Algeria, Pakistan Engage in Talks on Regional Development Cooperation

Algeria and Pakistan have held bilateral discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation on regional development, economic growth, and mutual diplomatic interests.

In a meeting between Algerian and Pakistani officials, both countries reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering South-South cooperation and enhancing collaboration across strategic sectors, including trade, energy, education, and regional security.

According to a joint statement released after the talks, the two delegations exchanged views on ways to deepen economic ties and pursue shared goals for sustainable regional development.” The discussions also underscored the importance of maintaining peace and stability across their respective regions.

A senior official from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “This engagement reflects our shared vision for a prosperous region, built on mutual respect, cooperation, and inclusive development.” He added that both countries are keen on expanding trade and investment opportunities.

Algerian representatives echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the potential for enhanced partnership in renewable energy, infrastructure, and vocational training. “Algeria views Pakistan as a key partner in advancing a multi-polar and development-driven world order,” an Algerian diplomat said.

Both sides also discussed the challenges posed by regional instability, terrorism, and climate change, agreeing to work more closely within multilateral frameworks such as the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the United Nations.

The meeting concluded with a pledge to maintain high-level consultations and follow through on bilateral agreements that align with each country’s development agenda.
