The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos, Olohundare Jimoh, has unveiled new policing reforms aimed at improving operational efficiency and strengthening security in Lagos and Ogun States.
Jimoh announced the reforms during a courtesy visit to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja, according to a statement by Zone 2 Police spokesperson, DSP Gbenga Afolayan.
He said key reforms include a ban on the transfer of cases from state commands to the zonal headquarters to enhance efficiency, as well as the approval of seven new divisional police headquarters in Lagos.
Jimoh also commended the Lagos State Government for its continued support in logistics, welfare, and operational assistance, noting that recent efforts have helped reduce crime and improve public safety across the two states.
In response, Governor Sanwo-Olu welcomed the AIG, describing his return as a “homecoming” and praising ongoing police reforms aimed at strengthening community policing and boosting public confidence.
He assured continued government support for security agencies to ensure safer communities across Lagos State.
