AGN Suspends Shirley Igwe Over Alleged Assault

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has suspended Nollywood actress Shirley Igwe indefinitely following allegations that she physically assaulted a crew member during a film shoot.

According to reports, Igwe allegedly slapped a member of the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria (CDGN) on set, prompting swift disciplinary action from the AGN leadership.

In a formal statement issued to its national and state chapter chairmen, the AGN announced Igwe’s suspension, citing “violence and indiscipline actions capable of discrediting the acting profession” as the reason.

The Guild also issued a directive to its members, stating:

“Members are hereby directed to refrain from participating in any film production involving her.”

An internal investigation is expected to follow to determine the appropriate course of action based on the findings.
