Anambra Develops Digital Platform to Monitor Infrastructure Projects

The Anambra State Government has developed a digital platform, DocTracker, to monitor infrastructure projects, track contractors, and improve official document management across the state.

The platform is designed to enable the government to monitor projects from contract award through construction to completion, while providing information on contractors, field activities, project sites and implementation progress.

The Managing Director of the Anambra ICT Agency, Chukwuemeka Agbata, disclosed this during a joint review of the platform with the Ministry of Works at the ministry’s office in Awka.

Agbata said DocTracker had two major components: document management, which tracks official records, and project and contractor management, which monitors infrastructure projects and the activities of contractors.

He said the system would improve project monitoring and strengthen the government’s ability to track implementation across different stages.

The Commissioner for Works, Okey Ezeobi, emphasised the need to make the platform accessible to the public to enable residents to monitor road construction projects and identify infrastructure requiring maintenance.

In response, Agbata assured the commissioner that recommendations made during the review would be implemented before the platform’s official launch.

The engagement also featured further training for engineers in the Ministry of Works to equip them with the necessary skills to operate the application effectively when it becomes operational.
