The Flying Eagles of Nigeria defeated Togo’s U-20 national team 3–0 on Thursday in their second Group B match of the ongoing WAFU U-20 Championship in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Young Sparrow Hawks of Togo held the Flying Eagles to a goalless first half, but Nigeria broke the deadlock two minutes into the second half.
Muiz Adeleke, who scored a brace against Ghana’s Black Satellites, opened the scoring with a well-taken finish.
Togo pushed for an equaliser, but Adeleke struck again in the 59th minute to double Nigeria’s advantage.

Substitute Abdoulaye Agbejoye added Nigeria’s third goal in the 85th minute to seal victory and put the result beyond the Young Sparrow Hawks.
The victory secured Nigeria’s place in the semi-finals with one group-stage match still to play.
The Flying Eagles will face Burkina Faso on Sunday in their final Group B fixture at the Yamoussoukro Stadium in Côte d’Ivoire.
The match will kick off at 3:00 p.m. Nigerian time.
