A Ukrainian drone strike overnight triggered a fire at an industrial site in Russia’s southern Stavropol region, regional authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
The governor of Stavropol, Vladimir Vladimirov, said emergency services responded swiftly to the incident and that no casualties were recorded. He disclosed the development in a statement shared on the Telegram messaging platform but did not identify the specific facility affected by the blaze.
Stavropol is home to several key industrial and energy installations, including petrochemical plants, fuel storage facilities and gas pipeline infrastructure that form part of Russia’s wider energy and chemicals network. Among the major assets in the region is the Stavrolen petrochemical complex in Budyonnovsk, operated by Russian oil giant Lukoil.

While officials did not confirm whether the fire involved any energy-related infrastructure, the region has previously been targeted in Ukrainian drone attacks. Kyiv has acknowledged carrying out strikes deep inside Russian territory, saying such operations are intended to weaken Moscow’s military and logistical capacity.
Ukraine has repeatedly stated that attacks away from the frontline are aimed at disrupting facilities that support Russia’s war effort, nearly four years after Moscow launched its full-scale invasion.
Russian authorities said investigations were ongoing to assess the extent of the damage caused by the latest incident.
