FMACTCE, SOOP Sign MoU on Digital Content Growth

The Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy (FMACTCE) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has signed a Strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SOOP Co., Ltd., a South Korean entertainment and live-streaming company formerly known as AfreecaTV, recognised for its digital platforms, esports services, and creator-driven innovations.

The partnership seeks to promote a dynamic digital creator economy while advancing the growth of cultural industries.

Under the agreement, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the creative economy and building a sustainable, mutually beneficial framework.

The MoU provides for the formal launch and expansion of SOOP’s digital-content platform in Nigeria, with both sides collaborating to improve content competitiveness, refine monetisation models, and encourage wider creator participation.

It also includes joint talent development initiatives such as training, onboarding, and incubation programmes, alongside broader cultural exchanges between Nigeria and Korea through co-productions, campaigns, and global branding efforts.

The partnership represents an important step towards fostering innovation, cross-border collaboration, and long-term growth in Nigeria’s creative and cultural sectors.
