Afrobeats sensation Mayorkun has unveiled his much-anticipated third studio album, Still The Mayor.
The 12-track project, released on 13 June 2025, features a stellar line-up of guest appearances including five-time Grammy nominee Davido, Fireboy, Ghanaian stars King Promise and Olivetheboy, as well as American-Nigerian singer and actor Rotimi. Rappers Dremo and Michii also contribute to the album.
This marks Mayorkun’s third album in a career that has spanned nearly a decade. In the lead-up to the release, the award-winning artiste dropped the single Reason 2 Japa in April 2025.

On Reason 2 Japa, Mayorkun tackles Nigeria’s pressing socio-economic challenges, which have driven many young people to migrate in the ongoing ‘Japa’ wave.
“Tell me the reason not to japa,” he asks in the track, which blends his lyrical introspection with Amapiano-inspired log drums. The song resonates with many Nigerians, particularly the working and professional classes, who continue to seek better opportunities abroad.
Still The Mayor follows Mayorkun’s 2023 EP Love For Free, which featured popular tracks like For Daddy and Low Key.
Over the past decade, Mayorkun has built a reputation as a prolific hitmaker known for his clever songwriting and infectious melodies. His 2021 sophomore album Back In Office included the hit Holy Father featuring Victony, while his debut album Mayor of Lagos firmly established him in the Afrobeats scene with chart-topping singles such as Bobo (featuring Davido), Che Che, and Mama.
With Still The Mayor, Mayorkun aims to further cement his status as one of the leading voices in contemporary Afrobeats.
