The Zamfara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (ZACCIMA) has announced that it has applied for a N20 billion soft loan from the State Government to support business and economic growth.
Dr. Hassan Buhari, the President of ZACCIMA, made this known during an interaction with the press in Gusau on Monday.
Buhari explained that if approved by the governor, the loan would benefit businesses of all sizes, including micro, small, medium, and large enterprises in the state.
He clarified that the rumors circulating about the loan proposal, including claims that the governor would not approve a loan for the organization, were not accurate.
“The State Government and ZACCIMA have been collaborating to ensure that our business communities are able to access this loan,” Buhari said. “We are committed to supporting the government’s mission of revitalizing business and economic activities in the state. Therefore, the public should disregard any rumors regarding this loan proposal.”
Buhari further emphasized that any business or individual seeking more information about the loan initiative should contact the chamber’s office in Gusau.
“We have submitted our proposal for a N20 billion loan to Governor Dauda Lawal, intended for micro, small, medium, and large-scale businesses across the state. After reviewing our request, the governor asked for a more detailed presentation. He expressed his support and assured us that he would approve the loan as part of his administration’s plan to boost economic activities in the state.”
He also noted that the governor’s agenda prioritizes the revival of economic activities in Zamfara, and the chamber remains hopeful that the request will be approved soon.
Buhari highlighted that ZACCIMA has received applications from various business groups registered with the chamber. “We have compiled around 1,000 applicants from micro-enterprises, 585 applicants from small and medium-sized businesses, and over 200 applications from large-scale companies. The beneficiaries will include applicants from all 14 local government areas of the state.”
He concluded by urging the public to stop spreading false information about the state’s development efforts.
