Also, in Asaba for the historic event are the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje; Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma; along with several other state governors, many of whom arrived on Sunday evening.
Delta State, traditionally a stronghold of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) since its creation, now sees the APC assume control following Governor Oborevwori’s defection, a first in the state’s political history.
The streets of Asaba have been adorned with billboards celebrating the governor’s move to the APC, while security has been significantly strengthened across the city to ensure a smooth and incident-free event.
