Tinubu Celebrates Bishop Oyedepo at 71, Hails Role in Nation-Building

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide (LFCWW), popularly known as Winners’ Chapel, on his 71st birthday, commending his contributions to nation-building through preaching, teaching, and service.

In a congratulatory message issued by his Spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President joined family members, congregants, staff of David Oyedepo Ministries International (DOMI), and the wider Body of Christ to honour the Presiding Bishop of LFCWW, describing him as “a towering figure of influence and impact in Nigeria, Africa, and beyond on spiritual, educational, and philanthropic platforms.”

President Tinubu praised Bishop Oyedepo’s discipline, focus, and diligence, noting that his legacies since establishing the ministry in 1982 have extended across cities and countries, with notable impact on infrastructure, health, and education.

Highlighting Oyedepo’s educational strides, the President lauded the Kingdom Heritage Schools, Faith Academy, and Covenant and Landmark Universities, saying they were deliberately structured to advance human development with a strong emphasis on skills and entrepreneurship.

“You have built one of Africa’s most impactful Christian ministries from humble beginnings. Your steadfastness in the Word of Faith ministry is exemplary, birthing many ministries with resonating impact on key sectors of the economy,” President Tinubu said.

He added: “Your establishment of Covenant University and Landmark University continues to raise the standard of education, competing favourably with other global institutions. Your contributions to nation-building through preaching and teaching of faith, discipline, and service remain deeply appreciated by our government. At a time when our nation continues to draw strength from moral and spiritual leaders, you have remained a pacesetter and symbol of a servant leader for many to emulate.”

The President prayed that God would grant Bishop Oyedepo long life, good health, and wisdom to continue to inspire individuals, families, and nations through the Word of Faith.
