During the forum, the governors agreed to establish a South West Security Fund under the DAWN Commission and to create a digital intelligence-sharing platform to improve coordination among states. They also discussed enhancing forest surveillance and called on the federal government to support the deployment of Forest Guards, with states providing personnel as needed.

The forum addressed concerns over unregulated interstate migration, committing to work with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to strengthen identification and border monitoring. Governors also raised the risks posed by illegal mining, agreeing on the need for stricter licensing and stronger enforcement.

Reaffirming their backing for the establishment of State Police, the governors described the reform as long overdue.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, who chairs the forum, emphasised that the strength of the South West lies in its unity, pledging continued collaboration with colleagues to build a safer and more prosperous region.
