Veteran Nigerian actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) is set to make his highly anticipated return to live theatre this June at the Woolwich Fireworks Factory in London, marking his first stage appearance since 1987.

The production underscores SUMI Group’s dedication to promoting African narratives on global stages. RMD’s theatrical comeback is regarded as a milestone for the initiative.

The group noted, “It elevates our mission to bridge African storytelling with universal human truths.”

The play follows Adenike, portrayed by Idia Aisien, as she navigates the complex interplay of love, ambition, and desire, while contending with her strained relationship with her father, Adebayo, played by RMD.

The trailer teases electrifying late-night encounters with her husband, Kunle (played by Kunle Remi), juxtaposed with tender moments of domesticity. The cast also features Tobi Bakre, Otunba Akin Lewis, Tomi Ojo, and Ronke Ojo. The production is expected to blend minimalist staging with the vibrant spirit of Lagos.

Meanwhile, RMD recently premiered his Glo-sponsored film, Radio Voice, in Lagos, Nigeria. At the event, he praised Globacom’s pivotal contribution to the development of Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
