President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially inaugurated Anambra State’s ‘Iconic Light of the Nation Tower,’ a landmark project constructed by Dutum Construction Ltd.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony in Awka on Thursday, Mr Temitope Runsewe, Managing Director of Dutum Construction Ltd., described the tower as a symbol of progress that positions Anambra on Nigeria’s tourism map. The tower, he said, reflects the state’s slogan, ‘Light of the Nation’, and was conceptualised under the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The inauguration formed part of a series of state projects commissioned by President Tinubu, including the Solution FunCity, Anambra Country Club, New Government House, Government Lodge, and the New Presidential Lodge. The President also unveiled the Emeka Anyaoku Centre at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

Runsewe explained that the 40-metre structure, completed within six months, features a globe at its summit and a water fountain at its base, both elements symbolising the state’s identity and aspirations.

He emphasised that the tower serves as both a visual landmark and an economic asset, designed to attract tourists and generate long-term value for the state.

“The project demonstrates what can be achieved through synergy between a visionary government and a capable construction partner,” he added.
