The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has cautioned Nigerians against fraudulent recruitment advertisements and appointment letters being circulated by individuals falsely claiming to represent the organisation.

The warning was contained in a public notice dated Oct. 5, 2026, signed by the Executive Director, Administration, Mr Samaila Abdu, and circulated to the Fund’s regional and branch managers.

The NSITF said it was not conducting recruitment for any position, describing employment offers currently circulating on social media as fraudulent.

“NSITF is not currently recruiting for any position,” the Fund stated.

It urged members of the public, particularly job seekers, not to respond to the advertisements or make payments to individuals offering purported employment opportunities.

The Fund stressed that it does not demand fees from applicants and does not recruit through unofficial social media platforms or other unauthorised channels.

It said legitimate recruitment opportunities, whenever available, would be announced through its recognised communication channels.

“Stay alert, stay safe,” the NSITF advised, urging anyone who encounters suspicious recruitment offers or requests to report them to the appropriate authorities.

As part of efforts to prevent members of the public from falling victim to the scam, the Fund directed its regional and branch managers to display the warning prominently at their offices.

The notice is to be placed at reception areas, entrances and exits, notice boards, SERVICOM desks and other locations accessible to staff and visitors.

The NSITF said the notices should remain visible to ensure that members of the public are adequately informed about the fraudulent recruitment schemes.

The Fund also advised Nigerians to verify any employment claims through its official communication channels before providing personal information or taking further action.
